STEPHENVILLE -- Madeline Johnson Reynolds Stiever, 92, of Stephenville, formerly of Arlington, passed away Tuesday, July 23, 2013, at her residence.
Graveside service: 10 a.m. Thursday in Moore Memorial Gardens 1200 N. Davis Drive, Arlington.
Madeline was born in Dallas on Oct. 26, 1920, to the late John Wesley and Madeline Hawkins McLaughlin Johnson. She graduated from Sunset High School in 1938 and attended Arlington State Junior College. On May 22, 1940, she married James Haney Reynolds; he preceded her in death on Nov. 4, 1980. She then married Raymond Stiever in Arlington on Sept. 29, 1984, and he preceded her in death on June 3, 2003. Madeline retired from Fort Worth ISD and later retired from Dallas Federal Savings and Loan. After retiring, Madeline and Ray purchased an RV and continued their love of camping and exploring the back roads of America and Canada. Ray and Madeline joined the Escapees RV Club and became members of Run-Away-Bay-Naco in Bridgeport, and Lewis and Clark RV Resort in Kamiah, Idaho. Madeline was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Stephenville.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, John Wesley Johnson Jr.; stepmother, Ann Johnson; and a grandson, Paul (Herman) Reynolds. Survivors: Son, Waco Reynolds and wife, Linda, of Stephenville; grandchildren, Shawnee Bass (David) of Stephenville, Mark Reynolds (Kim) of Stephenville, and Linda Pierce (John) of Granbury; sister-in-law, Bobbie Reynolds of Dallas; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; stepson, Terry Stiever of Granbury; stepdaughters, Michele Stiever Strong of Greenville, S.C., and Tamara Stiever Hankins of Arlington; stepgrandchildren, Eric Stiever, Stephanie Stiever Perry, Christopher "Kippar" Stiever, Allyssa Stiever, Misty Richardson, Stacy Mullen Jeremy Desoto, Marc Strong, Lindsey Hankins, and Robert Lee Hankins; several stepgreat-grandchildren.
