Howard J. Sever, 87, of Oshkosh, died Friday March 2, 2007 at the Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Delphos, OH on December 6, 1919 the son of Marcus and Anna Rahrig Sever. On October 18, 1945 he married Beatrice Walch in Winona, MN.
Howard was the Senior managing partner in the CPA firm of Kimball, Lamb, Reichman & Co. He served as chairman of the board of the Oshkosh Savings and Loan for 25 years. He has been a member of the Knights of Columbus for 50 years, earning the 4th degree. He was also an avid golfer and had six holes-in-one to his credit. He was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church and had served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice Sever of Oshkosh, two daughters, Terri (Tom) Carmody of Glen Ellyn, IL, and Vicki Sever of Oshkosh, a brother, Oliver (Rita) Sever of Delphos, OH, a sister, Mary (Charles) Dabbs of Ann Arbor, Ml, a son-in-law Harry Ring of Northwood, NH, four grandchildren, Joshua and David Ring, Katie and Jamie Carmody, and a great grandson, Keegan Ring. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Ring, two brothers, Lester and Stanley Sever, and a sister, Cecelia Wilhelm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday March 6, 2007 at 11:00 AM at the St. Peter Catholic Church with Fr. Robert Kollath officiating. Entombment will be in Lake View Memorial Park. Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service. A memorial to the church has been established.
