WABASHA -- The Mass of Christian Burial for Mary L. Greden will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Divine Mercy Catholic Church at Immaculate Conception in Faribault, Minn., with the Rev. Michael Izen officiating. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Minneiska.
Mrs. Greden, 87, of Faribault, formerly of the Wabasha area, died Tuesday (Dec. 26, 2006) at Abbott-Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis, following a sudden illness.
Mary Lorraine Schurhammer was born Oct. 29, 1919, in Wabasha. She grew up and graduated from high school in Kellogg. On Oct. 29, 1937, she married Arnold L. Greden in Kellogg. He preceded her in death on Dec. 26, 1985. She was a member of the Divine Mercy CCW, Daughters of Isabella, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and the Faribault Eagles Aerie 1460. She volunteered making quilts, was involved at the Faribault Senior Center, and enjoyed cooking, gardening and playing cards.
Survivors include a daughter, Mary Jane (Allan) Duvick of Mesa, Ariz.; a son, Eugene (Maureen) of Faribault; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three brothers, Eugene (Lucille) Schurhammer, Valentine Jr. (Gertrude) Schurhammer and Donald (Laura) Schurhammer, all of Kellogg. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son and a brother.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault, and an hour before the service Saturday at the church. There will be a Rosary service at 4:30 p.m. today. |
