| Note | Virginia "Jane" C. Miller, 90, of Owatonna, died Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Homestead Hospice House.
She was born December 25, 1918 in Bixby, Minnesota the daughter of Frank and Agnes (Pavek) Fischer.
Jane married Charles Miller October 29, 1940 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Litomysl. Jane and Charles bought the family farm in 1943, the couple then farmed together. Charles died October 31, 1998. Virginia was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, canning, and animals. Jane loved driving in her golf cart around the farm.
She is survived by her son LaVerne (and Bev) Miller of Owatonna, daughters LaVonne (and Dale) Strand of Pine River, Lorraine Rieck of Medford, Louise (and Michael) Stenzel of Owatonna, and Leona (and Norman) Rieck of Owatonna, thirty grandchildren, and thirty-six great grandchildren. She is also survived by two sisters Magdelin Peach of West Concord, Florence Reul of Faribault, and one brother Victor (and Esther) Fischer of Blooming Prairie.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles, son Tim, and son in law Emil Rieck.
Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday March 6, 2009 from 4-8 PM and at Sacred Heart Catholic Church on Saturday for one hour prior to the service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Saturday March 7, 2009 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Reverend John Sauer officiating. Interment will be in the Bohemian National Cemetery in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to Homestead Hospice House. |
