Robert (Bob) Ulrich
1926-2005
OWATONNA -- Robert (Bob) Ulrich, 79, of Owatonna, formerly of Medford, died Nov. 4, 2005, at St. Mary's Hospital in Rochester.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2005, at 11 a.m. at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home with Rev. John Linde of Day Break Community Church officiating. Burial will take place at Owatonna Memorial Gardens with Military Rites by the Steele County Funeral Unit. The visitation will be from 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. today at Brick-Meger Funeral Home, 1603 Austin Road, and one hour before services at the funeral home on Wednesday.
Robert was born Aug. 14, 1926 in Lewisville, son of Emil Sr. and Lena (Dobberstein) Ulrich. He attended country school in Meriden and was drafted in the Army. He was a veteran of two wars; WWII from 1945 – '46 and the Korean War from 1950 – '52, as a Corporal Medic. He married Judy Anderson in 1959 and they had three children and later were divorced. Dee Stenzel met Bob in 1976; they married in 1988 in Laughlin, Nev. Bob farmed and had dairy cows for most of his life in addition to working 10 years at the Bonded Gas Station in Owatonna. After his
retirement he worked at Wildung Alfalfa Mill. Bob was a member of the Faribault Eagles. His hobbies included a Old Time Country Western band (Country Farm Hands) for 26 years. He loved dancing to polka music, spending time with his family and grandchildren, playing cards, camping and riding his golf cart.
Bob is survived by his wife, Dee of Owatonna; sons, Tim (Kathy) Ulrich of Owatonna and Dale Ulrich of Claremont; daughter, Roxy (John) Stordahl of Owatonna; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Carl Ulrich of Owatonna, Richard (Judy) Ulrich of Owatonna, Herbert (Marge) Ulrich of Albert Lea, Hans (Doris) Ulrich of Owatonna, Earl (Darlene) Ulrich of Faribault, Fred (Helen) Ulrich of Owatonna, and Frank (Kris) Ulrich of Pemberton; sisters, Ella (Tilmer) Hanson of Medford, Anna Marie Miller of New Prague, and Mary Lou Bettin of Savage. He is preceded in death by one granddaughter, Stacy in 1981; three brothers and one sister.
Memorials are preferred to the donor's choice.
