Obituary from Albert Lea Tribune, Albert Lea, Freeborn, Minnesota Phyllis F. Schmidt, 86, a resident of rural Owatonna, died Aug. 6, 2008, at her home. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Owatonna, with the Rev. Ed McGrath officiating. Internment will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. The visitation will be held on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Brick-Meger Funeral Home in Owatonna (1603 Austin Road) and will continue one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. The Owatonna Chapter of Catholic Daughters of America will recite the rosary at 9 a.m. at the church Saturday. Phyllis Faith was born on July 1, 1922, to Philip S. and Vivian (Gardner) Wulff at Naeve Hospital in Albert Lea. She attended Ramsey School in Albert Lea and then graduated from the Albert Lea High School class of 1940. Following graduation, she continued working at Lueck Sanders Drug Store until the spring of 1941, when she entered Hamilton Business College. She graduated and started work in the Wilson Office in Albert Lea until her marriage to Philip J. Schmidt in July 1943. Together, they farmed for a number of years and raised four children. Phyllis then went to work at Federated Insurance in Owatonna, where she was employed for more than 23 years. Phyllis was a den mother in the Cub Scouts when her boys were younger. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and also a member of the Owatonna Catholic Daughters of America and the DUV-Daughters of Union Veterans. Her life interests included bird watching, computer games, emailing, messaging and bowling and spending time with her family and friends. Phyllis is survived by three children: Jerome (Beverly) Schmidt of Owatonna, Carolynn (A.J.) Marks of Eagan, Kathy (Curt) Anhorn of Waseca and daughter-in-law, Rita Schmidt of Danville, Ill. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; her sister Lavon (Russell) Anderson of Conger; half-brother P. Bruce Wulff of Rushford; a step-brother, Fred Goers of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Philip; her son Vernon; her mother and father; and an infant nephew. Memorials are preferred to the American Cancer Society and th
