| Note | Clement A. "Clem" Stenzel, age 86, of Wells, MN, died Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Parkview Care Center. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. Visitation will be Thursday, February 5, from 4 – 7pm at the Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Wells, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Interment will be in St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery with Fr. Thomas Niehaus officiating. Memorials are preferred to St. Casimir School and Church, American Cancer Society, Albert Lea Hospice and also for masses. Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home of Wells is in charge of arrangements.
Clem was born October 16, 1928, the son of Alex and Amelia (Bushlack) Stenzel in Dunbar Township. He was a lifelong resident of Faribault County, graduate of St. Casimir School. He was united in marriage to Jean Dulas, September 26, 1950. They had 3 sons. Clem was a farmer all his life. He was also an assistant leader for the Walnut Lake 4-H Club along with his wife. He served on the Board of Directors for the Wells Sportsman Club and also on the Board of Directors for the Wells Farmers Elevator for 10 years, and the Wells Golf Board. He was a member of St. Casimir Church, and the former Holy Name Society, Knights of Columbus, Rosary Society, and the Wells Golf Club.
He especially enjoyed the week-long vacation with all the family in Alexandria for the last 35 years or more every July. Clem and Jean spent 22 winters in their trailer in Mesa, AZ where they made many friends. He took part in many activities there. He was in a horseshoe league in their park, where he had the highest 3-game series in the history of the park. He also was on a golf league and bowling league.
Clem is survived by his wife Jean of 64 years; 3 sons: Dale (Connie) Stenzel of Wells, Brad (Lynn) Stenzel of Eagan, MN, Larry (Marsha) Stenzel of Wabasha, MN; 8 grandchildren: Steve (Sarah) of St. Paul, Sara (Dave) Kuglin of Mankato, Candace and Michael Stenzel of Eagan, Jarred Stenzel of Plymouth, Brandon Stenzel of St. Cloud, Brittany and Kelsey Stenzel of Wabasha; 4 great-grandchildren: Ian and Aubree Kuglin of Mankato, Henry and Charlie Stenzel of St. Paul; 3 brothers: Art (Janet), Dan (Betty), and Richard (Barbara) all of Wells, MN.
He is preceded in death by his parents. |
