Emma D. Schmidt a resident of the Ranier Roost, died on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 at Falls Memorial Hospital. She was 83 years of age.
She was born on May 5, 1924 at Verona Twp near Winnebago, Minnesota to Guy and Ethel (Mason) Kinney. She graduated from Huntley High School in 1943.
On January 8, 1946, the former Emma D. Kinney was united in marriage to Kenneth Schmidt in St Casimir Catholic Church/Wells, Faribault, Minnesota.
Emma worked as a waitress for many years in the cities of Wells and Minnesota Lake as well as several other jobs along with farming.
Kenneth and Emma moved to International Falls in 2003.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters; Rutha, Martha, and Guylett, and brother; Herbert.
Survivors include her two sons, Ronald Schmidt of International Falls and Craig (Michelle) Schmidt of International Falls, daughter, Marlys Schultz of North Mankato, grandchildren, Zachary (Cara) Schultz, Joshua Schultz, and Kendra Schmidt, and sister, Ruby Jensen of Illinois.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 1, 2007 at St. Thomas Catholic at 10:00 a.m.. The Recitation of the Holy Rosary will begin at 9:15 a.m..
Interment will be in St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery.
Memorials would be preferred to the St. Thomas School Endowment Fund in Emma's Memory. |
