From: Richard Stenzel [mailto:notification+z1lllfze@facebookmail.com] Sent: Monday, December 2, 2013 3:42 PM To: Stenzel-Family/Germany,Poland,USA Subject: [Stenzel-Family/Germany,Poland,USA] This is an information for the American part of... This is an information for the American part of our family .Especially for those who are interesting in genealogy. Last week i found an interesting mistake in the birth date of Julianna Kulot. Julianna Kulot was the wife of Paul Johann (John) Stenzel who emigrated from Fürstlich Neudorf -our hometown in Silesia- to Minnesota/USA in 1884. By the way, Paul Johann (John) was a first cousin of my GGGrandfather. I think the most US- family members here in this group knows, that the sons of Paul Johann (John) and Julianne: Vincent, Thomas, Johann JOSEPH, Johann (John), Anton and Franz (Frank) were the ancestors of most living StenZel`s in Minnesota. The most sources and information out of the US, determine the birthday of Julianna Kulot on February 9th 1837. And most sources determine the parents (of Julianna Kulot) are Lorenz Kulot and Johanna Orschulok (from Trembatschau, a little village in the neighborhood of our home-village) But THIS women (Julianna Kulot, daughter of Lorenz Kulot and Johanna Orschulok, born on February 9th 1837) died in TREMBATSCHAU in December 25th 1906 and she married Franz Urbanski in 1860…not Paul Johann (John) Stenzel! And she didn`t emigrate! So, your ancestor Julianna, wife of Paul Johann (John) Stenzel cannot be this women! But who is the wife of Paul Johann (John) Stenzel? And when was she born, who were her parents? And why “lives” this mistakes such a long time in the US-information’s?? I think the reason is simple..it is a mixe-up! The real wife of Paul Johann is Julianna KuloK not Julianna KuloT..a simple but important difference. Julianna KuloK was born on April 8th 1837. And her father was Lorenz KuloK not Lorenz KuloT. (mother was Anna Poziemba) If somebody wants to have more information about this, please send me an E-Mail.

Shared note
Came to the United States at age 47. Folklore has it that Julia wanted to come to this country, because she didn't want to have half of her children on one side of the ocean and the other part of her family on the other side. She maintained that either her children who were in the United States would come back or she and Paul and the rest of the family would go to the United States, which they did. Death: Buried in first St. Casimir Cemetery, located behind the church, where the pastor's garage is now located. She was moved to the present site of St. Casimir Cemetery. Anton, her son, designed and built the first grave monument used by his mother. Made of tin, the cross and pedestal are still part of the Stenzel farm. The cross is now located inside a grotto, and the pedestal is on the top of the barn. After Paul died, Julia's grave maker was made to match Pauls. Wells Forum paper dated Tuesday, August 19, 1902, on page 5: "Mrs. Paul (Julia) Stenzel, a lady of about 70 years of age (she was actually 65 years old) was stricken with paralysis while in town last Friday, (August 15, 1902), and fell on the street. This is the third stroke she has had, and it leaves her in a very critical condition." Her obituary follows in the Wells forum dated August 26, 1902: Julia died on Wednesday, August 20, 1902, and is buried in Wells. (Reprinted from the Wells Advocate, Tuesday August 26, 1902) Mrs. Paul Stenzel, whom the forum spoke of last week as having received a stroke of paralyses, died last Wednesday. She was 70 years of age, and was born in Germany. With her husband she steeled in Dunbar Twp, this Co. in 1887 where she has since resided. She leaves a husband and eight children, six boys and two girls. The funeral occurred last Friday, and the services were conducted in the Catholic Church by Rev. Father Cieszynski. St. Casimir Catholic Cemetery Gravestone, Wells, Minnesota, says death was on September 20, 1909, but this possibly was when she was moved to new Cemetery?
