Age 94
Entered eternal rest on Sept 8, 2023. He was long time employee of Waterous Co in South St. Paul. John was extremely proud of his service as a USMC sergeant stationed at a Marine air base during the Korean War. He loved traveling across the United States, Canada, Europe, and Asia. He cherished his family and was a stellar role model to all who knew him. He was a 58-year member of St. Pascal Baylon Parish, a life member of Arcade-Phalen American Legion Post 0577, Saint Paul, MN and of VFW Post 4127, Homestead, FL.
John was preceded in death by an infant son, a granddaughter, his parents, 6 brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived by loving wife Shirley, son Gregory (Kristine Nogosek) Hanson, daughter Jeanne (Donald) Carlson, 9 grandchildren and 5 greatgrandchildren, sisters Caroline (Raymond) Linder, Vivian Christy, Juleen Jeske, brother Vernon, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Christian Burial Service on Saturday, September 16, 2023, 11:00 AM at Roberts Funeral Home, 8108 Barbara Ave, Inver Grove Heights, MN 55077. Visitation starting at 9:30 AM at the funeral home. Luncheon will follow the Service. Private family burial service with military honors at Resurrection Cemetery in Mendota Heights, MN.
