Obituary, Albert Lea Tribune, Albert Lea, Minnesota Agnes T. Stencel, age 83, of Minnesota Lake, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at the Parkview Care Center in Wells, where she had resided the past four years. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake. The Rev. Thomas Cook will officiate. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Bruss-Heitner Funeral Home in Minnesota Lake, with a prayer service at 5 p.m., and one hour prior to services at the church on Monday. Intermentwill be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Minnesota Lake. Agnes was born on Aug. 17, 1920, at home in Lyra Twp, Blue Earth Co, the daughter of Albert and Mary (O�Connor) Hawker. She attended country school and later attended Good Counsel Academy in Mankato. On Oct. 9, 1939, she married James Robert Stencel at St. Teresa's Catholic Church in Mapleton. Agnes enjoyed being a mother and homemaker. She always enjoyed friends and family around her kitchen table. Her favorite pastimes were her flowers, gardening, spending time with her grandchildren, and always keeping up with the latest sports on TV and radio. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Minnesota Lake. Her faith strengthened her life and nurtured a beautiful example of the unconditional love of Christ. She is survived by one son, Robert and his wife Reta Stencel of Minnesota Lake; two daughters: Kay and her husband Luverne Rasmussen of Albert Lea, and Barbara and her husband George Sonnek of Minnesota Lake; 10 grandchildren: Rhonda Drager, Ron Stencel, Rob Stencel Jr., Luverne Rasmussen Jr., Dan Rasmussen, Kris Rasmussen, Ron Sonnek, Stacey Alberts, Ryan Sonnek and Tyler Sonnek; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Catherine McCarthy of Mapleton, and Joyce (husband Eugene) Evan of Wells; and several nieces and nephews.
