George Patterson was a man of many trades but best was he was Veterniary Surg. He form all his own medicines for different allments. He was also a Blcksmith and a Stockbuyer. They lived in Andover New York when the got married 1847. They were of Congregational faith. They got married by a J.P. His name was Shepard Amidon J.P. of Greenwood New York. The started thier way to Wisconsin in1855, There was a group of them all the children of George and Elizabeth. Also her mother and father and all there children exsept one, he said in New york. of cource, The civil War broke out shortly after they got to Wisc. Mrs patterson brother enroled in the Army as a allotment service meaning he got paid 500.00 dollars to take his place...More about him later..In 1873 they moved to to Fort Atikinson, Wisc. They bought property a nice house and a perfect place to set up his practise.They stated there until Elizabeth had a Stroke then they move back to Jamesville, Wisc. Were her sister took care of her..until she passed away..She is buried in Milton Cemetery, Wisconsin the services were done by Rev. J. Reynolds. They have a beautiful cite and stones in the Milton Cemetery, I have taken picture's of it they are enclosed. George of course was getting more fragil so he went to Omaha, Dogulas Co. Neb. He was residing at his dauthers home there until his death, and he was sent home to beside his beloved. Elizabeth. In the Milton cemetry.. James Patterson the Founder of the family came from Scotland to this country sailing on the"John and Sarah, from London England Nov. 11 1651 at Charleston R,I, May 13, 1652. Obituary December, 27, 1906 Milton Telephone George Franklin Patterson was born in Courtland, New York , June 16, 1827, He Married to Elizabeth Carman, Jan 1 1847, They came to Wisconsin and settled in Milton in 1855. In 1873 they moved from Milton to Fort Atkinson where he lived until Last September when he went to live with his daughter, Mrs, Delia Good man, in Omaha, Neb. . Mrs Patterson died in Fort Atkinson Sept 19 1904, He leaves five Children; Mrs. Nellie Dodge, of Long Beach CAlif. Mrs. Delia Goodman, Omaha, Neb. Mrs Kittie Hammond,Chicago Ill; Charles A. Patterson Fort Atkinson, Wis.; and William I. Patterson, Milton Wis. He was a black smith by trade but on account off poor health he has not worked at it for three or four years, He was able to be about, however until the 14 inst. when he was stricken with paralysis and died the twenty- first.
