The Daily Record Tuesday, July 21, 1953 Winona Deaths Clarence A. Buck Funeral services for Clarence A. Buck, 35, 933 S. Robert St., West St. Paul, former Winonan, who drowned in St. Croix Lake at Hudson, Wis., Saturday, were conducted at 2 p.m. today at the West Funeral Home, St. Paul. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, St. Faul. Buck was born in Winona in 1918, and had lived in the St. Paul area since 1947. He was employed by the American Hoist & Derrick CO. Survivors are his wife, the former Doris A. Greener; one son, William; three daughters, Linda Lee, Ona and Kathleen; his mother, Mrs. Stella Buck, Winona, and one sister, Mrs. Herbert Pagel, Winona. Winona Republican-Herald, Tuesday, July 21, 1953; Page: 15 11 Killed in Weekend Mishaps in Minnesota By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS Accidents in Minnesota and Wisconsin snuffed out the lives of 21 persons over the weekend with traffic mishaps accounting for most of the deaths. Eleven died in Minnesota. The dead: The son of a well known Wisconsin industrialist and a partially deaf farmer who apparently didn't hear a train's warning whistle were among 10 persons killed in weekend Wisconsin accidents. Clarence Buck, 36, West St. Paul, drowned in St. Croix Lake, near Hudson, Wis. He had been picnicking with his wife and three children and decided to go for a swim.
