COTTAGE GROVE - Thomas John Stiever, age 51, of Cottage Grove, born into eternal life on Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at home. He was born on March 23, 1951, in Milwaukee, to Francis and Monica (Douvier) Stiever. Tom graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He married Laurel Janke on Oct. 28, 1972, in Milwaukee. Tom worked for Springs Window Fashions for 24 years. He was a member of Bryn Mawr Presbyterian Church.
Tom is survived by his wife, Laurel; three daughters, Jenny Ling, Jessie and Janelle; a son, Joshua; granddaughters, Taylor and Brianna Ling; his mother, Monica Stiever; sisters, Sharon (Louis) Martinez, and Yvonne (Bob) Keeling; brothers, Ricky Stiever (Judy) Seymour) and John (Kim) Stiever; and many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Francis Stiever; and brother-in-law, Bob Keeling.
Funeral services will be held at BRYN MAWR PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 229 N. Main Street, Cottage Grove, at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2002, with the Rev. John Zinearo presiding. Entombment will be at Highland Memory Gardens. Visitation will be held at GUNDERSON EAST FUNERAL HOME, 5203 Monona Drive, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2002, and at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Wednesday.
If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane I'd walk right up to Heaven and bring you borne again. Tom, Dad, Papa - We thank you for everything you are. We will love and miss you forever. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a college fund to be established.
