Note | OBITUARY-
WALTHAM -- The funeral for Janice Rose Schieck will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in rural Waltham with the Rev. John Luther officiating. Spring burial will be in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Schieck, 75, of Waltham, a longtime area resident, died Monday morning (Feb. 3, 1997) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Janice Barnick was born Oct. 4, 1921, in Wells, Minn. On Aug. 26, 1944, she married Edwin J. Schieck in Wells. He died March 7, 1992. She was a homemaker and worked at Field Crest Nursing Home in Hayfield. Mrs. Schieck was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was active in Lutheran Hour Ministry and church volunteer work. She enjoyed dancing and flower gardening.
Survivors include a daughter, Marilyn (Mrs. William) Larson of Rochester; four sons, Duane of Claremont, David of Waltham, Richard of Midlothian, Va., and John of Austin; 10 grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Donna Steinhauer of Wells, Mary (Mrs. Lester) Coy of Elmore, Minn., Lois (Mrs. Merlin) Thisius of Albert Lea; two brothers, Gene "Jack" Barnick of Wells and Harold Barnick of Lake Crystal, Minn.; and special friend, Herb Fox of Blue Earth, Minn. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter and three brothers.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Vernon-Czaplewski Funeral Home in Hayfield and an hour before the service Thursday at the church. |
