Mr and Mrs. Philp. S. Ryder have been married fifty-one years to-day, and are quietly observing their wedding anniversary at their apartments in the Lynn. Althought the father of the bride was present at the cermony, it was nevertheless, a runaway match as the youthfull pair was in terror of pursuit and capture by James Patterson of Ithaca, the older brother of Miss Olive Patterson now Mrs Philip S. Ryder. Mr. Ryder was 18 years old and Miss Patterson was 17 and on account of their youth the brother in whose home his young sister was living at the time interposed strong objections to a marriage or evena engagement. When the youngsters declared their intention of " Committing matrimony," therefore, Mr. Patterson Locked his sister in her room and kept her there for a week. But "Love laughs at a Locksmith". and Miss patterson found a way to thrart her objecting borother. She coaxed her sister-in-law to let her go out for a breath of air hastened to the home of a girl friend with whom she changed gowns and went for a stroll with Mr. Ryder. At dawn the next moring her lover, as had been arranged, called for her at the home of her friends who had secreted her through the night. Thef couple were driven to the station succeeding in avoiding her furious brother and took the train to Wilsieville where Miss Patterson's father was staying. The latter gave consent to their marriage and the knot was tied by a Justice of Peace, the groom failing in his search for a clergymand. Mr and Mrs Ryder have lived in Syracuse for more thadt forty years. Two children were born to them both of whom are now dead.

Widow of well-Known Photographer Survives Husband by ten Months.
Mrs. Olive Patterson Ryder widow of Philip S. Ryder, died at 9:10 oclock last eveing at the home of he niece, Mrs. C.W.Pearse, No. 320 Cortland Avenue surviving by scarcely ten months her husband Philip S. Ryder the well known, photographer, who died June 31st, 1907
Mrs. Ryder was 70 years old and had not been strong in some years althought she was not constered an invalid until the early part of last July, shortly after the death of her husband whose death undoubtedly shortened her days.
The lover-like affection of the aged husband and wife for each other to the day of the former's death was well known to their friends and all who had been closely associated with them predicted that the sparation would not be for long. Their marriage was preceded by an elopement when Mr. Ryder was 19 and his bride was 17years old and the death of their two sons one in infancy and the other in early manhood- only seemed to draw them more colsely together, Mrs Ryder was her husbands associate in business and worked for many yeats wilth hilm in the photograph gallery. After his death she continued the business.
Mrs. Ryder is survived by two sidters , Mrs Grace Judson of No. 320 Cortland Avenue and Mrs. O.M. Hunt Binghamtom. New York.
Thser funeral will be held at the First Methodist church at 2;30 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, Rev. Dr. Frederick T. Keeney officiating. Shortly before her death, Mrs Ryder requested that the details of her husband's funeral should be carried out at her own, and as far as possible her wishes will be complied
with. The same hykkmns will be sung and the same clergyman will preach the funeral sermon.

Funeral services for Mrs. Olive Patterson Ryder widow of Philip S. Ryder were held at 2;30 o'clock this afternoon at the First, M.E. church the Rev. Dr. F.T. Keeney officiating. It had been Mrs. Ryder's urgent request that her funeral be as nearly like that of her husband as possible, and this request was carried out. The same bearers who asside at Mr. Ryders funeral acted this afternoon for Mrs. Phillip Ryder. The active ones were; Prof. James E. Conan, Dr. Herbert L. Stebbins, Dr. C.W.Duboise, and Barton Smith.
The Honorary bearers were, Andrew J. Feek, S. Gurney Lapham, Prof. William K. Wickes and Edward McDougal. The body was placed in the family vault, at Oakwood, Cemetery.
