Harold Olinger

Harold Olinger, age 91, of Freeburg, Minn., passed away Feb. 10, 2012 in Indiana with his daughter and son-in-law at his side.

Harold was born Sept. 26, 1920 to John and Clara (Fisch) Olinger.? He attended Loretto High School, Caledonia, Minn. Harold married Mary Graf on Feb. 1, 1949 He farmed the family farm north of Freeburg. In 1989 he received the certificate from the Minnesota State Agricultural Society for the century farm, as it had been in the Olinger family for 100 years. Harold enjoyed many of his years hunting and fishing with his family. He was on the Crooked Creek Town Board for many years. He was a member of the St. Patricks Parish Brownsville, Minn.

He is survived by his two daughters Bonnie (Arthur) Wehrmann, Louisville, Ky. and Louise (Ed) Parks, Taos, N.M.; two grandchildren, Bradley Olinger and Mathew Parks; and sisters-in-law Jean Olinger Schlitz and Marion Graf.

Harold was preceded in death by wife Mary (Graf) Olinger, son Jim Olinger, brother Ambrose Olinger; in-laws, Dr. Murielle and Loretta Houlihan, Rose Rita Klein, and John Graf.

Harolds funeral Mass will be at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at St. Patricks Church in Brownsville.? Supper will be served immediately after at the church reception hall. His ashes will be buried next to his wife, Mary Olinger, at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Freeburg. In lieu of flowers, family asks that memorials be made for the up-keep of Freeburg Cemetery.
